After all these years I'm still doing just what you'd think I'd be doing...singing and playing the guitar. Several CDs, three sons, and a move from Brooklyn to the Catskills later, I look back on my years at HCHS as a great time in my life (except for the classes and the homework). Through lots of 'day jobs' in the arts including Putumayo Records and Afropop Worldwide, I've managed to keep focused on creating and sharing music. Got an award from the UN for a series of documentaries on music and political change called "Rockin' the Boat," and I currently host a live radio show called "Catskill Cabaradio." I'm one of the few, but not the only Jewish woman to be inducted into the NY Blues Hall of Fame. Did we change the world when we were young? I think so, but not nearly enough. |
