On January 31, 1972 I started working for the New York City Department of Social Services/Human Resources Administration.  Employment that I intended to keep for six months before pursuing a graduate degree has lasted for forty-five years.  During those forty-five years I had the opportunity to work in many different areas, learning new skills and being amazed at my ability to adapt and succeed in areas that were alien to me.  I have been a trainer, a procedure writer, Director of Security, Director of Print Services and a Contract Manager.  Along the way I went to grad school and received a Masters of Public Administration and an MS in Emergency Management.
With each new challenge, I realized how my days as a “Hunter Girl” prepared me to face them head on. Mr. Hoopes nurtured my writing skills that have served me well over the years.  I also remember Ms. Wekerle who encouraged me to participate in various speech class activities that helped hone my public speaking abilities.
I think fondly back on my days at Hunter and look forward to our reunion.
