Nancy Carol Thompson ’67, a/k/a Zia Avila, died on December 1, 2004, of breast cancer with complications from fibromyalgia and childhood scoliosis.

She did her undergraduate work at New College in Florida, received a Masters in Special Education at the University of British Columbia at Vancouver, and practiced law with a degree from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. She was surrounded by beloved friends for the joyful celebration of her last birthday, which fell on Thanksgiving.
