It’s still mind-boggling to say that this is our 55th class reunion.
I remember how much I dreaded speech class at HCHS! But … when I became Chairperson of the Board of my industry’s National Trade Association, I was so grateful for the lessons learned in that class. I was confident when I got up to speak in front of almost 1000 people at our conferences. Hunter taught me to be able to stand tall. I know that sounds trite – but the combination of the friendships within the school and the classroom teachings, certainly helped to shape me into the person I became.
I am happily retired now. My brother & I successfully sold our soap manufacturing business in 2009. I am enjoying my retirement in large part by being a volunteer and giving back. Since my last bio – I no longer belong to a Rotary Club. I have become much more active in Mahwah EMS (my town’s volunteer ambulance corps). I am a driver and the squad’s Membership Secretary. The ambulance corps has provided a “family” in my town that has been very rewarding.
For many years, my passion was scuba diving. I was lucky to have traveled to many of the great places around the world to see the underwater world. Now my passion is tango dancing. I’ve been going to Buenos Aires every year for the past 10 years (except for the past 2 years) to continue to try to master the dance! Sadly, I have not been dancing since March 2020 when the pandemic arrived. I’m hoping to get back to it soon but don’t want to take any chances these days.
I was married for a brief period back in my 30’s (no children) but have remained happily single since that ended. I continue to have very close relationships with my 3 nieces and my great-niece & great nephew.
