Linda Wohlhorn Simard |
I went to Hunter College, dropped out, and finally graduated from Goddard College in 1976. I’ve worked in many areas of commercial real estate and am mostly retired except for the occasional work that I do from the comfort of my home. I’ve also been doing a bit of volunteer work as an officer of a neighborhood revitalization group. After one marriage for each of us, my husband and I met online about 15 years ago, took a great leap of faith, and married after he relocated from Missouri to Bridgeport, CT. Having finally met my match has been a major source of contentment for me. I will be forever grateful that my mother decided that I should take the HCHS entrance exam when I was in the 8th grade at Blessed Sacrament school in the Cypress Hills section of Brooklyn. From the distance of 50+ years, I can trace so many of the events of and people in my life to that initial decision. I believe that the camaraderie between us, the encouragement to voice one’s opinion and the personal respect that was given to us was far from the norm for that era, and had a great impact on the woman I am today.
