"Hey, all you Sarah Marias! Sorry not to be with you all this weekend; have a wonderful time! I'll do my bio backwards, as an explanation of my absence!

In 2015, my husband, Manny (Stuyvesant HS, 1966) and I moved, lock, half our stock and barrel from a large house in West Orange, NJ to a small apartment in San Francisco, CA.  Our older son, Paul, and his wife, Melissa, live here, and in June of 2014, they had our first (only, so far) grandchild, a brilliant, adorable boy named Leo. We wanted to be part of his life, so here we are. His birthday happens to be June 4, so, no reunion weekend for me!

Our younger, son, Joshua, just married a wonderful woman named Rae.  They live in Flagstaff, AZ, and they are off to Paraguay, with the Peace Corps, in September!

I spent much of my life as mom, chauffeur, PTA volunteer, car-pooler, grocery shopper, etc. I had never pursued a career (mostly due to laziness, and lack of focus), and had three 10 year jobs, for different phases of my life. Post College, (SUNY Buffalo), I worked for Air France, and fit in quite a bit of travel, before and after my 1975 marriage.
Opted to be a stay-at-home mom after Paul's 1980 and Josh's 1985 births. Craving adult conversation, and something to do, I found a part-time "gal-Friday" job I stuck with for another 10 years. My last job was as the "insurance diva" in a pediatric medical practice.

I love theater, reading, museums, exploring. Our proximity to Napa and Sonoma lets us escape to beautiful wine country and we're familiarizing ourselves with this coast.

When not spending time with Leo, I'm currently obsessed with RESISTING TRUMP!

Best regards, Janice Meyer Kursky

Update 2022

This year, fear of Covid is keeping me away from an in-person reunion.
Still only one grandchild, a delight!
Regarding younger son, Josh and his wife, Rae. After returning from a Peace Corps stint in Paraguay, they moved to Southern California, for jobs with the US Forest Service.
I’m still working against Trump, trying to convince Democrats to vote in the mid-terms.
