50 years? Are you kidding?
For some years I pursued a career in music in NY, playing clubs and concerts and doing some recording. In 1981 I switched gears, moved to Los Angeles and started freelancing at anything that would pay the rent. Since I seem to be good with money (maybe something to do with that advanced algebra class?) people started hiring me to manage theirs, and things slowly evolved into a rather demanding business management and tax practice. I work too hard, but my clients are a fascinating grab-bag and I really enjoy talking with them. I also like not being broke.
I have never married but am in a long-term relationship with Bill Clarkson, an artist from Chicago that I met on a blind date 25 years ago.
I’m still very much involved in making music here, singing with several semi-pro choirs and studying piano. I love this city. |
